This one week itinerary offers travelers to visit Tsaatan community of reindeer herders in Mongolia and to explore some of the most inaccessible places in the northern Mongolia the easy way on adventure journey. From Mongolian capital city, we will be flown to the extreme northern part of Mongolia, be impressed by the natural wonders of the West Taiga zone and the amazing view of the Khuvsgul lake national park. Spend two night in the Tukha's settlement to learn more about their reindeer herding culture.

Itinerary

DAY 1. FLY TO KHUVSGUL PROVINCE & DRIVE TO KHUVSGUL LAKE

With 7 days of cultural and sightseeing ahead, we'll fly to the northern Mongolia to start our Mongolian tour package in Khuvsgul province before heading to the biggest freshwater lake of Mongolia. Upon arrival at the lake after 100km driving on a paved road, we'll go for hiking to explore the surrounding beautiful scenery of the pristine lake.

DAY 2. TO WEST TAIGA ZONE / TSAGAAN NUUR VILLAGE /

After a hearty breakfast early in the morning, we'll start our off-road driving adventure to Darkhad Valley with the short break for lunch at Ulaan Uul village on the way. Once reach the destination, we will visit a Darkhad family with a strong Mongolian language dialect. After having our dinner with locals, will pack our stuff for 2 day horse trekking to reindeer herders settlement.

DAY 3. HORSE TREKKING TO REINDEER NOMAD ENCAMPMENT

With trails accessed only by foot or horseback in the Taiga Wilderness, this is the ultimate Darkhad Valley's horseback riding experience. It’s here you’ll appreciate a taste of true Tukha's hospitality, Mongolian reindeer herders and welcome to open their teepee's door to gain insight into their specific reindeer herding lifestyle and what life is like on the high mountain zone.

DAY 4. EXPLORE REINDEER HERDING CULTURE & LEISURE DAY

Day off to dive into the reindeer herding culture and local traditions of the area you are exploring.

DAY 5. BACK TO TSAGAAN NUUR VILLAGE

After breakfast, we'll leave the reindeer herder's settlement and continue our horse trekking back to the Darkhad family. On the way, we'll take a lunch break at a beautiful spot and eat a delicious takeaway.

DAY 6. DRIVE BACK TO MURUN TOWN

After breakfast early in the morning, we'll continue our off-road trip with a taste of adventure back to the Murun town. Enjoy our dinner at a local restaurant and hot shower will make you relaxed after this long day.

DAY 7. FLY BACK TO ULAANBAATAR CITY

Fly back to the capital of Mongolia. Our driver will pick you up from the airport and transfer to your accommodation.
