Itinerary

DAY 1. ARRIVAL IN MONGOLIA & CITY TOUR

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar city, the capital of Mongolia and transfer to accommodation. An afternoon guided city tour will introduce you to the highlights of the city.

DAY 2. FLY TO BAYAN ULGII PROVINCE & TO ALTAI TAVAN BOGD NATIONAL PARK GATE

After check-out of the hotel, transfer to the Chingges Khaan airport for a flight to Ulgii town in western Mongolia. Upon arrival, we'll be greeted by our local driver and travel to Tavan Bogd national park. After 5 hr driving, we will reach to the park gate in the white river valley, where we'll start our trek in the following morning. Enjoy dinner and prepare our stuffs for the 3 day trek. When packing for your trip, make sure to pack some good hiking boots, along with extra clothes because the weather can change in the blink of an eye.

DAY 3. TRAVEL TO ALTAI TAVAN BOGD / BASE CAMP/

Start our trek early in the morning as you will be heading towards to the majestic Altai 5 peaks. Upon arrival at the base camp, set up our tented camp and spend the rest of the day leisurely exploring the Potanin glacier.

DAY 4. TREK TO MALCHIN PEAK

After breakfast continue our trek along the biggest glacier moraine of Mongolia to climb Mt. Malchin (4051m). It will be a little challenging walk towards but as soon as you reach the top you will be greeted with a stunning view of Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Take your time and capture memories to last a lifetime. Although non-technical a return trip requires 6-8 hours depending on travelers’ fitness and weather condition. We then return to our camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5. CONTINUE THE TREK BACK TO THE WHITE RIVER VALLEY

On this day we'll ride back to the park gate in the white river valley. The valley is the summer quarter for Tuvan ethnic group. You might like to taste their milk vodka, distilled from yogurt and experience their nomadic hospitality.

DAY 6. VISIT GOLDEN EAGLE HUNTERS

Continue the tour to Sagsai village where the most famous golden eagle hunters of Mongolia settled down. On this day, interacting with the local Kozakh nomads and take a selfie with golden eagles. Enjoy a traditional meal for dinner with the family members and overnignt.

DAY 7. DRIVE BACK TO ULGII TOWN

Today is our final day in western Mongolia and before heading to Ulgii town in the late afternoon we will spend a wonderful time with eagle hunters to learn more about their falconry and nomadic life. Once reach the town, will enjoy dinner at a Turkish restaurant and relax at a local hotel.

DAY 8. FLY BACK TO THE CAPITAL OF MONGOLIA

After an early breakfast, transfer to Ulgii airport to board a flight back to Ulaanbaatar city. Our journey then concludes on arrival at UB.
