Itinerary

DAY 1. FLY TO DALANZADGAD CITY & TO FLAMING CLIFFS

Our journey begins from Chinggis Khaan International airport to take a short domestic flight down to the Southern Gobi Desert. Upon arrival, our local tour guide and driver will meet in Dalanzadgad city with a pick-up at DZ airport, at 7am. After a warm welcome with your guide and driver, we'll drive to Bayanzag, known as Flaming Cliffs, which is a famous site with its first dinosaur eggs discovery ever in the world.

DAY 2. TO KHONGOR SAND DUNES

Head to khongor sand dunes, the most important sand mass in Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park. Have a whole day of fun in Khongoryn els where you can experience Mongolian Bactrain camel riding, dune climbing, nomadic family visiting etc. Enjoy an authentic Mongolian barbeque cooked in the traditional style before heading for an excursion to singing dunes to view the sunset.

DAY 3. TO NEMEGT BASIN / DRAGON'S GRAVE /

On route to the Nemegt basin, known as" the valley of the dragons", since it is recognized primarily on the basis of fossil and trace assamblage dominated by dinosaur. Situated within the expansive Gobi Desert, the remarkable Nemegt Canyon serves as a portal to ancient history. This awe-inspiring natural site is not only a geological wonder but also a rich repository of dinosaur fossils, rendering it an essential destination for any avid paleontologist or dinosaur enthusiast.

DAY 4. TO KHERMEN TSAV CANYON VIA NARAN DAATS OASIS

This morning, we'll head west to Khermen Tsav, an impressive red sandstone rock formation, towering 100-200m from the gobi-desert floor. The canyon is not only one of the most dinosaur-rich sites in Mongolia, but also the largest one. We stop in Naran Daats meadow en route to the canyon to see a small gobi oasis where poplar trees and reeds are supported by a small stream.

DAY 5. TO BACK TO KHONGOR SAND DUNES VIA ZULGANAI OASIS

Early in the morning, we'll continue our journey with a 250km off-road adventure to head back to Khongor sand dunes. After arrival, enjoy a hot shower and explore the rest of the day at your own leisure.

DAY 6. TO GOBI GURVAN SAIKHAN NATIONAL PARK / YOLYN AM GORGE /

Today, we'll embark on the 5 hr drive to Gurvan Saikhan National Park to visit Yolyn am, a deep and narrow gorge with steep rock walls situated at the southern end of the Altai Mountain Range. The Gorge is named after a vulture, which is called Yol in Mongolian, as well as known as an ice canyon. The ice field reaches over 3m deep in some years, and stretches several kilometers. The ice field remained whole year round in the past years, but lately the ice tends to disappear in mid-July due to global warming.

DAY 7. FLY BACK TO ULAANBAATAR CITY

It is a relatively short drive today to your early morning flight UB from Dalanzadgad city. Pick up at Chinggis Khaan International airport and transfer to the hotel in Ulaanbaatar city.
