Trip overview

This three days trip provides the best sights outside Ulaanbaator city and some activities to liven up your holiday in Mongolia, such as horse riding, climbing, hiking and visit nomads. Moreover, there is a great chance to visit the biggest equestian statue and Hustai National Park to see the world last surviving wild horse while discovering some historical places along the route.

Itinerary

DAY 1. TO HUSTAI NATIONAL PARK / UNGUT DEER STONE

Head to Hustai National Park where takhi wild horses were reintroduced since 1992. Once reach the destination, we will visit "Ungut Deer Stone" monuments and have a brief introduction of the takhi horse and biodiversity of the Hustai National Park. Afterward, continue our drive to the habitat of the last surviving subspecies of wild horse “Takhi” to see. Before heading our addcommodation we will spend an hour on horseback along the grassy steppe of the park.

DAY 2. TO GORKHI TERELJ NP VIA MANZUSHIR MONASTIC RUINS

Travel to one of the most popular national parks of Mongolia, Terelj National Park, located in Tuv province. Upon arrival at the park, we will visit a turtle rock, a naturally formed granite stone for photo and will walk to Aryapala Buddhist meditation temple to enjoy a beautiful scenery of Khentii Mountain Range. On the way the Terelj we will visit Manjushir Monastery Ruins, dated back to the 17th century and destroyed during the communist period in 1930's.

DAY 3. TO TSONJIN BOLDOG / ULAANBAATAR CITY

After breakfast, we will visit Tsonjin boldog, a historical place related to Chingges Khaan and 13th century of Mongolia. Once you reach the place, you will visit a giant horseback statue of Chingges Khaan, 40m high and made with 250tons of stainless steel. In the afternoon drive back to Ulaanbaatar city and transferred to accommodation.
