Itinerary

DAY 1. TO AMARBAYASGALANT MONASTERY

Head to the northwest to reach Amarbayasgalant Monastery, the biggest monastic complex and Buddhist school in the north Mongolia. The monastery was constructed in 1736 and has survived destruction during anti-religious purges. 28 temples, rich in wood carvings and religious artifacts inside the monastery wall housed over 5000monks during its flourishing period. A golden Buddha statue and phenomenal stupa on hilltops backyard the monastery wall offer great panoramic views of the surroundings.

DAY 2. TO URAN TOGOO NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, head to spectacular Uran Togoo Mountain – an extinct volcano named for its characteristic crater lies in Bulgan province. Upon arrival to Uran togoo NP – We will climb the Uran Togoo Mount to see the panoramic views of the surrounding beauties. The mountain is nearly 1689meter high above sea level.

DAY 3/4. TO KHUVSGUL LAKE NATIONAL PARK

Head to Khuvsgul Lake and explore the Mongolian biggest fresh watered lake, refers to a dark blue pearl with a length of 137km and 262m deep. Here we will spend 2 nights. Activities: Horseback riding, hiking and drive up to the Khordil Sardig Mountain Range to see the whole panoramic scenery of the biggest fresh watered lake in Mongolia.

DAY 5. TO KHUTAG UNDUR VILLAGE VIA BAIBAILIK CITY RUIN

Drive to Khutag Undur village via Baibailik which is a city ruin of Uyghur, a minority of a Turkic ethnic group situated in Khutag-Undur Village, Bulgan province. It was a flourishing city and one of the cultural centers in central Asia of the period. There are two fortresses of clay and most part of them collapsed and only east and the north section of the northern fortress remained current. This remained fortress is 4m high and 2m thick. Many tiny holes on the fortress are supposed to have been used for observing outside. On northern fortress of the city, there was a large temple surrounded by lions of male and female. In 840 Baibalik city was destroyed by Kirgiz nomadic tribes from Enisei River.

DAY 6. TO AGLAG BUTEEL TEMPLE

Drive to Aglag Buteel temple, situated in the Dal Valley of Bornuur village, about 100 km northwest from Ulaanbaatar. The temple is rich in religious statues, scroll paintings, appliques and it is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Once we reach the attraction we’ll see unusual mythical animal carvings made by wood, roots and stones surrounding the mountain. The place is peaceful and ideal for meditating and hiking.

DAY 7. BACK TO ULAANBAATOR CITY

Drive back to Ulaanbaator city and transferred to accommodation.
