Overview
Golden Eagle Festival is the only one in the world. In this festival, Mongolian Eagle hunters and Kazakh nomads take part to show off their hunting skills with golden eagle. During the Golden Eagle Festival, hunters and their well trained eagles compete against each other in various hunting matches. The eagle festival is one of the biggest celebrations among Mongolian Kazakh nomads and several eagle festivals are celebrated in March, September and October.

Itinerary
DAY 1. FLY TO ULGII TOWN
Today, you will catch a flight from Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar city to Ulgii town and once you arrive at Ulgii airport, our driver and guide will pick you up and introduce Ulgii town and visit local museum.
DAY 2. PARTICIPATE IN THE GOLDEN EAGLE FESTIVAL
Drive to Bugat district of Ulgii town where eagle festival is going to be taken place. Upon our arrival at the venue, we will enjoy several competitions that involved local eagle hunters.
DAY 3. CONTINUATION OF EAGLE FESTIVAL
Continuation of the competitions/Camel race, Uriankhai Archery and Tinge Llu, a competition to snatch the coins from the ground with horseback ride/ and enjoy Eagle Festival Closing Concert, performed by Kazakh artists at Ulgii theatre in the late evening.
DAY 4. TO ALTAI TAVAN BOGD NATIONAL PARK/RANGER STATION/
Head to the extreme west to visit Altai Tavan Bogd National Park with a scenic drive. Once we reach the entrance of the park/ranger station/, will visit a Tuvan family and experience their nomadic lifestyle.
DAY 5. HORSE TREK TO MAJESTIC 5 PEAKS & POTANIN GLACIER
Start our horse trekking from Tsagaan gol to Mongolia’s largest Potanin Glacier /53.5 square km / and other Alexander, Granegglaciers. You will experience an unforgettable excursion to largest Potanin Glacier. It covers 53.5 sq.km and ice river starts from Altai TavanBogd Snow peaks. Walking along the river you will have a great opportunity to observe the beautiful wild untouched countryside, fresh air and fresh water.
DAY 6. BACK TO RANGER STATION
We resume our horse trek from base camp to the ranger station. We will ride along the glaciers where you can admire the moraines ice and permanent snow. We will visit the same Tuvan family and stay over the night in their guest’s ger.
DAY 7. BACK TO ULGII TOWN
Head back to Ulgii town and enjoy hot shower and relax.
DAY 8. FLY BACK TO ULAANBAATAR
Fly back to Ulaanbaatar city.
